Our story

WHO IS BEHIND KUJTEN?

Kujten is the expression of Carole Benaroya and Stéphanie Eriksson’s long-standing friendship, one that started when they were teens. Throughout their years in middle and secondary school, Carole and Stéphanie discovered they were both passionate about fashion.

From her financial background, Carole felt the urge to add some passion to her professional life in 2012, and immediately turned to her friend Stéphanie.

Attentive to details and to the world’s beauty, Stéphanie is steeped in the fashion industry. She draws her expertise in knitwear and cashmere from working in Joseph’s Parisian styling department, an English fashion house that is renowned for its knitwear.

Kujten arose from their love for an exceptional material: cashmere. Their ambition to start their own cashmere brand was confirmed following a first trip to Mongolia, where they fell in love with the blue-sky country.

THE KUJTEN BRAND

In creating KUJTEN, Carole and Stéphanie’s ambition was to rewrite the codes of cashmere wear, focusing on quality, color, and attention to detail.

KUJTEN comes from the name of the highest peak in Mongolia, our manufacturing land, a choice that seemed obvious to our Parisian founders. With our in-depth knowledge of knitwear and focusing on impeccable quality, each season, our ambition is to invent a contemporary and colorful cashmere wardrobe in order to offer you ever more daring collections. Loyal to our values, we are committed to respecting animals and to our Mongolian partners, to excellence

On the high plateaus of Mongolia, Capra Hisca goats face particularly harsh winters where temperatures can drop below -40°C. Nature has given them the precious ability to wrap themselves in a thick, soft, silky fleece. Under coarse hair, the long, fine threads of their down trap air between the tiny spaces in their fibers and form a natural barrier that preserves heat. Thanks to them, the goats can withstand the most extreme weather conditions. When the good weather comes, they moult naturally.
