DAILY CASHMERE CARE

PILLING AND SNAGING
Cashmere is a natural and living material that always contains superfluous material, and it is this same material that will create the famous pilling. The simple remedy to avoid pilling: wash your cashmere regularly to nourish the fiber.
The Mongols say that "cashmere loves water: the more you wash it, the more beautiful it is." Pilling is not a sign of poor quality cashmere. It is a natural phenomenon caused by the friction of the material.
We recommend using a natural stone specially designed for this purpose or a cashmere comb, which you can find in our Kujten boutiques or in a haberdashery. Your pieces will thus keep their appearance of the first days. On each Kujten cashmere piece, we provide a few additional threads in order to repair your snags by yourself or give them to a retoucher.
IN CASE OF STAINS
Treat the stain immediately with cold water and a special cashmere (or wool) stain remover. Follow the stain remover's instructions and then wash your cashmere as previously indicated. If the stain persists, take it to a dry cleaner that offers delicate dry cleaning.
MOTHS
Your cashmere is very popular with moths that feed on the fiber. To avoid this, here are some tips:
Only store clothes that have been washed.
Open your cupboards regularly to air them.
Lock your cashmere sweaters that you won't wear during the summer in airtight covers with a natural repellent (lavender, cedar wood, etc.).

STORAGE
Only store your cashmere washed and well dried. Ideally, place your cashmere items in a dedicated box accompanied by a cedar ball or a lavender sachet (anti-moth).
If you do not plan to wear your cashmere for a long period of time (for example to store your winter models during the summer) we advise you to opt for an airtight cover.
OUR RECOMMENDATIONS:
Do not wear your cashmere sweater for 2 days in a row to allow the cashmere wool to rest.
Wash your cashmere sweater after 2 or 3 wears.
Cashmere is a natural fiber that loves water, the more you wash it, the softer and silkier it will be. Before washing, we advise you to remove excess pilling if necessary.
