KNITTING TECHNIQUES
Our timeless knit stitches: At Kujten we work with several knitting and knit stitch techniques to bring our collections to life and enhance cashmere.
01.
JERSEY
The Jersey stitch corresponds to the classic base of a 2-thread cashmere sweater. Our basics are knitted in the 2-thread Jersey stitch but this stitch can be knitted up to more than 18 threads.
02.
GARTER STITCH
On the front and back of the work, this stitch makes small horizontal waves in relief. Also widely used in baby clothes. At Kujten, we mainly use moss stitch to make our cashmere accessories.
03.
THE RICE POINT
Rice stitch is a stitch made purlwise and knitwise, which produces a strong stitch.
04.
TWIST
The twist originally represents fishermen's ropes and symbolizes luck, its origin comes from the Irish islands.
05.
ENGLISH COASTS
Double stitches are the basis of English ribbing. They are knitted twice. In terms of visual rendering, they give a 3D effect to the cashmere and to the touch, they give the knit a soft and cozy side.
06.
Jacquard stitch
It is knitted in jersey using several alternating colors in order to reproduce geometric patterns from an established grid.
07.
Intarsia
Intarsia allows you to add one or more blocks of stitches of another color to a plain piece.
08.
THE WOVEN
Another technique, this time if the cashmere fiber is not knitted but woven, often used for making coats.
